Terms for the Snapshot and one-off work

Who you're dealing with

What the AI Visibility Snapshot is

The Snapshot ($99) takes 20 buyer questions for your kind of business and city, each asked three times, plus 4 questions about your business, checks the answers in Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, ChatGPT and Grok, compares you with the five businesses the answers name most, checks whether AI and search crawlers can reach your site and whether its structured data is clear, and gives you a ranked list of fixes.

• It is a point-in-time sample. It shows what those tools answered when the questions were run. AI answers change from one run to the next and from one person to the next, so a different run may give different results.
• No guarantees of results. I don't promise any ranking, AI citation, mention, traffic or enquiries, before or after you make the fixes. Nobody outside Google, OpenAI and the other providers controls their answers.
• The fixes are recommendations. You decide what to change on your site, and you or your developer make the changes unless we agree otherwise in writing.
• Some answers may not come back. If a tool fails or returns no answer for a question, the report says "not checked" or "no AI answer". It never counts that as a result against you.
• Payment and delivery. Payment is by card through Stripe when you order. The report is emailed to the address you give, within 2 business days of payment.
• The dashboard ($29 a month after the first month). Your Snapshot comes with the first month of a private dashboard. Once a week it asks your 5 to 10 priority questions again in the same 5 AI tools and shows how often each answer names you, the 5 businesses AI names most, and whether anything moved beyond the normal run-to-run variation. It is weekly and sampled, not real-time. After the first month it continues month to month at the price below until you cancel. Cancel any time from the dashboard (the billing page); you keep access until the end of the month you paid for and are not charged again. The dashboard is a weekly sample: each refresh asks your priority questions once in each tool, so a change smaller than the variation measured at your baseline is shown as normal variation, not as progress or a drop. Alerts are sent at most once a week, only for a wrong fact an AI tool states about you (checked word for word against your own site), a new business among the five named most, or a change beyond normal variation. If a tool fails, that week shows it as not checked. Access is by a private link, with no login; ask and it is replaced. There is no separate 30-day re-check report: the dashboard asks your priority questions again every week and compares with your baseline.

The checks are passive, and the site must be yours

The Snapshot only reads public information, and puts no load on your site beyond a few normal page requests. What we read: your homepage and one service page, the list of your pages (your sitemap, or up to 30 pages found through your own links), your robots.txt, public DNS records for your email settings, your site’s response headers, public certificate logs, your public Google Business Profile listing, and, for WordPress sites when you order with an email at your website’s domain, one request to the public user-count endpoint (a count only, no user names). For the comparison: the public Google Business Profile listings, homepages and page lists (up to 30 pages each) of the five businesses AI names most, and the directory pages the answers cite. No logins, no scanning, and it doesn’t try to exploit or break anything.

When you order, you confirm that you own the website, or that its owner has authorised you to order a report about it. Don't order a Snapshot for a site you have no connection with.

Acceptable use

You may not use a Snapshot, the free AI crawler checker or any report to attack, probe or harm a website, to harass or mislead anyone, or to break the law. Don't use a report to claim things about another business that the report doesn't show.

I may decline or cancel any order without giving a reason. If I cancel a paid order before the report is delivered, I refund it in full.

Refunds and re-runs

My services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. That includes that they are provided with due care and skill, are fit for the purpose I tell you about, and are delivered within a reasonable time. For a major failure you are entitled to cancel and get a refund, or compensation for the reduced value. For a smaller problem you are entitled to have it fixed in a reasonable time, and if I don't fix it, to a refund.

In practice, for the Snapshot:

• If a check failed or something in your report is wrong, tell me within 14 days and I'll fix it and re-run it free. Email jarek@layerops.tech; the 14 days run from the day the report is delivered.
• Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply: if the report isn't delivered, or a problem with it can't be fixed, you get a refund. That includes a report that doesn't arrive within the time shown, or one with a real problem (for example the wrong business, or most answers missing) that a re-run doesn't fix.
• If you change your mind before the report is sent to you, I'll refund you in full.
• Answers being different from what you hoped, or changing after the report, isn't a fault: that is what the report measures.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded.

Credit towards the AI Visibility Audit

If you book the $1,500 AI Visibility Audit within 30 days of getting your report, the full $99 comes off it. The credit applies once, to the business the Snapshot was for, and can't be exchanged for cash. The 30 days run from the day the report is delivered.

One-off jobs

For fixed-price jobs (for example the Google Business Profile work, the WordPress clean-up and hardening check, enquiry tracking and the Christmas shutdown readiness work):

• The price and scope are agreed in writing before you pay. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately first.
• You give me the access the job needs and confirm you're allowed to give it. Work on hosting or a hacked site needs your written authorisation.
• You own every account: domain, hosting, Search Console, Google Analytics and the content. I don't keep your passwords once the job is done; please change any you gave me.
• The same consumer guarantees and refund rights apply as above.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, my total liability for a Snapshot or a one-off job is limited to the fee you paid for it, or to supplying the service again. I'm not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost business. This doesn't limit any liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Reports describe what third-party tools showed at a point in time. I'm not responsible for what Google, OpenAI, xAI, Perplexity or other providers say in their answers.

Your report

You can use your report however you like within your business, including sharing it with your staff and developer. The report link is private: anyone with it can open it, so share it carefully. Reports are deleted after 180 days, so save a copy. How I handle your information is in the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Australian Capital Territory. If we can't sort out a problem by talking, either of us can take it to the courts of the ACT or to a court or tribunal that has jurisdiction where you are.

Changes

I may update these terms. The version on this page when you order is the one that applies to that order.
